Benno Hansen holds a diploma of specialized journalism from the Danish School of Media and Journalism and a Master’s degree from Copenhagen University where he wrote a thesis about comparing protein sequences with statistical models after studying many topics including systems ecology, plant biology and horticulture.
He has written numerous articles and opinion pieces for all sorts of publications as well as countless blog posts. Awarded the 1st prize by European Journalism Center for blogging about the COP15 climate change summit in Copenhagen, 2009 and awarded with a reporting trip to Millennium Development Villages in Kenya early 2011 for blogging about the UN Millennium Development Goals. Currently contributing articles about climate change to ScienceBlog.dk (in Danish) and occasionally reporting for OrganicToday.dk (also in Danish).
Enjoy comics, science fiction, walking in nature, chess, skating, attending FC Copenhagen home games, or eating organic meals with his girlfriend. Inclined towards environmental precaution. Linux and open source geek.
